Calories In A Boiled Egg

One of the most favorite ingredients in our dishes would probably be chickens' egg.  Most deserts use egg as a binding agent, the versatility which egg has dates back as far as civilization even started.  The most common and the easiest way to prepare and cook an egg is to just drop it in a boiling water and let it cook for about 3 minutes, it has become a part of someone's diet for extra protein requirements, but do you really know how much calorie in a boiling you would be taking if you constantly add it up to your menu?  Each average size egg carries approximately 5.5 grams of protein or 11.1% or normal daily value.  There is a total of about 68 calories in a single egg serving which will be turned into amino acids that body needs to regenerate cells.  Our body produces Choline, but it is not enough to sustain our daily need of such element, so egg would be a good source of choline that will enable our body to obtain folic acid in which a lack of such would lead to vitamin B deficiency.

The United States department of agriculture did a research on male and female subjects whose choline intake was restricted to 13% less than the bodies daily allowance need.  The results revealed that no severe deficiency came up in the study but apparently a decrease of 25-28% of choline in the blood results in a sudden drop in folate intake and egg became an instant remedy to sustain such need.  A single large size egg would contain as much as 300 micrograms of choline concentrate in the yolk and a surprising amount of phosphatidylcholine at 315 milligrams.  The main benefits of having enough choline in the body cells is, it improves the nervous system and brain condition to perform better, although the negative effect of too much egg diet is you would have a probable risk problems with your cardiovascular system.  This is because choline also converts vitamin B into homocysteine that has a potential to ruin blood vessels, commonly referred to as high cholesterol.  The cholesterol level in the egg is lot higher when raw, but would eventually decrease after the cooking process, so eating whole egg is not bad.  But constant moderation would be necessary because of the mentioned effect in the cholesterol level.  On  a positive note, eggs actually helps you in terms of protein balancing and improved amino acid production in the body, but like I said should be taken moderately and do not be so confident enough to grub as many eggs as you want, remember that the calories in a boiled egg would have a gradual build up in your body over time.
